OB is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups and structure have on behaviour within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge towards improving an organization’s effectiveness. It is a distinct area of expertise with a common body of knowledge. It studies 3 determinants of behaviour in organizations: individual, groups and structure. OB is also an applied field.
